Mini Project 2

For the second and third part of my mini project, I want to look at the idea about how high school students view college readiness and then how college students view their transition into college. Below is a link to an interview I did with a Sophomore here at UNC Charlotte and I talked about what he used to tranisiton into college. Most of the interview was performed off camera; however, some of it was on camera. I am trying to use these mini projects to work towards making a huge project becuase ease piece is building off of the last. From what I got from talking to Nathan was that most of his college readiness came from talking to people who have already made the transition into college and their experiences. He felt that he had a pretty good handle on what college was and when he got here, the only thing he did not fully understand how the workload was going to be. It seems that what Nathan has used the most is peer based learning. He has talked to students who have already gone through these challenges in their lives and has choosed that they are the experts of the subject matter. There are many different people that he could have gone to talk to; however, he choose to talk to his peers. But anyways, check out the video and then we will see where this project goes from here. Next week i will be interviewing a senior in high school.

  1. I can relate to your mini project because I am planning on interviewing somebody for my next mini project. I can also relate because I am also doing my project on the ideas of college readiness. I like your interview and the questions you asked were very good questions. I also felt the same way as him in college with the transition being difficult and how you need to adapt to putting in the effort when High School was so easy.

  2. This part of the project seemed like a lot of fun to do. You had very good questions and I felt a lot like how Nathan felt before transtitioning to college. Good work :)

  3. I like how you interviewed a sophomore because he's already been through the transition. I definitely think a lot of the stuff we learn comes from peers. Great video!

  4. I like how you interview someone already in college to see their view of how ready they actually were for college.
