On the Second card, we were to pick one of the events and elaborate on it and describe it in detail. I talked about how when I was younger, my mom and I always read together. It started with her reading to me when i couldn't. Then as I got a little older and was learning how to read, I started to read back to her. Now that I can read we dont read to each other; however, we still do read in the same room. This was very interesting to me because i never really thought about how much my mom helped me learn to read. The next two card I continued to elaborate on that. This is all building up to a project that we are supposed to do where we have to write a literacy narrative project.
I wrote about the same thing! I also thought that this was an interesting because it really got us to realize what has impacted our writing skills. I am excited to see where this takes us next class. Thank you for the post, very to the point! :)
ReplyDeleteMom's are so helpful(: I've never really thought about how much our parents shape the way we learn and things like that. They really did affect how we are as students today.
ReplyDeleteAww that reminds me of my mom and her obsession with Green Eggs and Ham. I guess parents are just like teachers, they make you do things that are hard, or seem stupid but they pay off in a few years.
ReplyDeleteI like seeing the transition of your thinking from cards and daybook to blog. And then thinking of how this will next translate into your literacy narrative project. Moving between spaces is interesting. I wonder how it affects your writing?
ReplyDeleteIts really cool to see that you did the same thing my mom and I use to do when I was little too. Before I could read I would always her sit down with me at night and read me a bed time story like every other little kid would do. I never would have thought of this as a narrative story but it really seems to be playing out as one! Good connection!
ReplyDeleteHi Michael, its pretty awesome to see that Lacy sometimes gives our classes the same assignments or similar ones. Its cool to see that you aren't afraid to talk about who has helped you in your reading and the reflection you made on your reading experiences as you got older. I am interested to see what you're literacy narrative holds.
